I often feel sad when I don’t fit in. Is depression common for aspies?

I think that it is mainly because we have such a tough time with social situations and fitting in with others. For me it was a realisation that I was different for others and had such a tough time with so many basic things but not knowing why that was the hardest part. I didn’t get the answer that I am an aspie until 15 years after this and muddled though those years. You often find that things get easier with time though. The more you work at a place the more people get to know you and the more you fit in with others.
Rightly or wrongly what helped me to get through depression was to realise that I was lucky and that there are people who have a much worse life than me who are happy and get through it. My life turned around with studying and finding my life partner then improved again when I had children.
You will be fine…smile at the world and the world will smile back at you.
