Famous High Functioning Autistic/Asperger’s People

Throughout history there have been many celebrities who are suspected to have high functioning autism/Asperger’s. People such as Mozart, Beethoven and Einstein to name a few. But as so little was know about autism in those days, it is hard to know for sure. Here are a several famous people who are known to have autism/Asperger’s today. I am extremely grateful that these celebrities have shared the fact that they are autistic. As they provide many of us with an immense amount of inspiration. Proving that autism does not have to hold us back and our dreams can be achieved.

Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins had an interview with the Desert Sun in 2017 where he stated he has been diagnosed on the high end of Asperger’s.

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle was diagnosed with Asperger’s in 2012. She revealed this in an exclusive interview with the Observer a year later. Before this diagnosis she was incorrectly told she had brain damage as a child.

Guy Martin

In the Independent it is stated that Guy was diagnosed with Asperger’s when he realised that he struggled with being famous.

Chris Packham

In the Radio Times it describes how Chris was diagnosed with Asperger’s in 2005. In 2017 he was in the BBC documentary entitled: Chris Packham Asperger’s and me.

Tim Burton

Although he has not been officially been diagnosed with autism, in Female First it is stated that his wife believes he has some of the symptoms of Asperger’s. This came to light when she starred in a film as a mother of autistic children. In addition, in the Evening Standard she said they watched a documentary about autism and he said he felt like that as a child.
